Normani on Her Shape-Shifting Hair, Braiding Rituals, and Lifelong Beauty Muses

The self-assurance to colour outdoors the lines—artistically and beautywise—stems from the spirit of her household. “Despite not seeing that substantially illustration in the attractiveness area on tv developing up, my moms and dads actually reminded me that I was wonderful and that my chocolate pores and skin and my kinky coils were being my superpowers,” clarifies Normani. Throughout her Fifth Harmony times primarily, Normani was consistently switching her hair. “I was the daredevil in the team,” she suggests, noting she wore her hair shorter, very long, textured, straight, blue, and purple. “I would just get bored immediately.” The largest risk she took throughout that time? “I experimented with to rock a pixie slash, and it did not fairly come out the way I assumed it would,” she admits. “But I believe I’ll be in a position shortly wherever I may want to try it out all over again.” These days she also wants to discover extra braided styles motivated by one particular of her greatest tunes and elegance idols. “Alicia Keys has always impressed me,” she suggests. “I believe that was the initially concert I ever went to.
