With the latest season of Emily In Paris due to land on our screens just before Christmas, footwear brand Malone Souliers is bringing a little Emily Cooper glamour into all of our lives, releasing a collection created in collaboration with the Netflix show.
Launching today, the eight-piece drop features embellished heels, pointed satin flats, tweed platforms and crystal mules, all of which would not look out of place in Emily’s Parisian wardrobe.
“Emily in Paris focuses on the fun and playful side of fashion,” founder Mary Alice Malone told us of why the show made a perfect fit for this brand collaboration. “She doesn’t take her statement clothes too seriously which is why to me, she is so magnetic. I really like the approach that fashion is here to enhance our day, mood and spirit.”
The collection was inspired by Emily’s “bold and playful” style, bringing bright colours and prints together in unexpected ways.
“The Emily in Paris aesthetic sits holistically with the Malone Souliers approach to creating. From the moment I launched the brand, the design ethos has always been mixing colours patterns and textures, which is why this collaboration was really a chance to go back and go further with that.”
It is not the first time that Malone Souliers has collaborated with a television show. Last year, the shoe label was inspired by Regency glamour, teaming up with Briderton on a 14-piece collection.
These collaborations nod to a growing trend of television inspiring our wardrobes more than ever before, something which Malone credits to the incredible reach of platforms like Netflix.
“TV has always influenced our fashion. In the 1990s, it was Sex and the City. Every decade had its fashion trends inspired by TV stars and series. The difference is that now we have huge streaming platforms such as Netflix that can reach new markets and a wider audience.”
